Tinley Park-Frankfort Rotary Sends Students to RYLA Leadership Program

Tinley Park, IL: The Tinley Park-Frankfort Rotary club continued its tradition of empowering students as leaders. Two local students were chosen through an application process to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program.

RYLA aims to provide effective training experience for youth and encourage leadership of youth by youth. Participants will have a better understanding of themselves and be able to make a difference in their community.

Tinley Park-Frankfort Rotary club donates dictionaries

The Tinley Park-Frankfort Rotary club continued its tradition of donating dictionaries to third graders for the past nine years with its first donation to the third graders of Riverdale School from Dolton-Riverdale School District 148. The dictionary project is a program to assist all students to become good writers and active readers. Please visit The Dictionary Project’s website for more information

“By donating dictionaries this achieves what we as a club are all about, giving back to improve the communities we call home, so in this case it is our local ‘give back’. Education and Our Future Leaders

We believe in education and our youth! Did you know that in 2016-2017 year, our group was able to make a difference in the following ways:
1. Provide over $3500 in scholarships for high school seniors from LW East, Tinley Park, Andrew High Schools.
2. Give dictionaries to the 3rd Grade class in Harvey Public School
3. Send 3 students to Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program (RYLA) where they identified their leadership style and learned how to be a leader.
